what lynn made today

Sea Silk Shawl-ette

ImageI finished knitting this earlier in the summer, but just wet it, blocked it, and pinned it to stretch the points out. It makes a big difference – it hangs much better now and the lace looks prettier.

This yarn was wonderful to work with – called Sea Silk, it is mostly silk, blended with Sea Cell  (“a cellulose based fibre made with Seaweed”).  It is nice and drapey… but it does have a bit of a funny smell.  Not unpleasant, but maybe a little tide-poolish!
